After Day 1A of the eponymous $50k PLO Grand Slam of the Onyx High Roller Series was played on Saturday at the Onyx Club of Malta, Day 1B was on the schedule for the high rollers on Sunday. Some German-speaking high rollers also started in the small but fine field. 4 of them made it to today’s Day 2. Late registration will also be open there, which will certainly lead to one or two more prominent entries!

Event #10: $50,500 PLO Grand Slam – Day 1A&B

48 entries had been recorded on Day 1A and 1B in the $50k PLO Grand Slam. This means not even half of the $5M guarantee has been reached yet. However, it can be assumed that many pros will indulge their passion for max late registrations on Monday and join in. With 500,000 starting chips and a slow structure, only 18 PLO cracks busted on the starting days. Chip stacks were bagged for today’s Day 2 30 times.

The small but fine field is impressive across the board. Norwegian PLO specialist and online high roller Mas Amot (440,000) is still in the running, as is Danish MTT legend Martin Dam (605,000).

We will also see French EPT series winner Thomas Eychenne (730,000) again today, as well as Dutch NLH Main Event final chipleader Tom Vogelsang (845,000).

Finnish phenomenon Aku Joentausta (1,125,000) will also be able to open a chip bag today, as will British high roller veteran Rob Yong (1,910,000).

Particularly pleasing is that 4 Austrians have also made it through starting days 1A and 1B to today’s PLO Grand Slam continuation: Maximilian Wieser is among the shorter stacks as 28th in chip count with 470,000 chips. Oswin Ziegelbecker, who is in 20th place with 820,000 chips, was able to increase his 500k starting stack.

The chipleaders are something like the who’s who among Omaha High Rollers. Fourth in the interim ranking is Norwegian PLO specialist and online crusher Espen Myrmo with 3,090,000 chips.
