Heads Up Cash Game World Championship

The 5th and 6th edition of the Cash Game World Championship is taking place in Heads Up this time. There is a parallel World Championship in No Limit Hold’em and one in Pot Limit Omaha. The game is played with a $10,000 buy-in at blinds of $50/$100. The opponents play against each other simultaneously at 2 tables; by arrangement, a different number of tables and higher blinds can also be played.

The Cash Game World Championship is back – this time twice in Heads Up!

It’s not just about fame and honor and a specially engraved Rolex as a wrist ornament, but above all about essential sums in the cash games. In addition, there is a tournament prize pool, to which CoinPoker has added another $5k on top of each player’s $10k entry fee. The 12 participants of the NLH HU CGWC are thus playing for a total of $180k for the top 3, while among the 8 participants of the PLO HU CGWC, $130k will be divided among the top 2.

Battle Rewards on the High Stakes

While the HU CGWC is reserved for a selected elite, CoinPoker’s reward systems ensure that high-stakes action remains sustainable beyond the event. CoinPoker’s ‘High Stakes Poker Rewards’ program is aimed at players with stakes of $50/$100 and above, offering semi-pros and pros fair compensation for generating action. The CGWC is rake-free as always, and this reward is also activated at tables not part of the CGWC event.

Battle Rewards is activated in high-stakes duels between pros or semi-pros and returns up to 90% of the value generated at the table. This significantly reduces the overall costs for players, while skill remains the decisive factor. This way, CoinPoker ensures that even fiercely contested pro-vs-pro battles at high stakes continue consistently. By reducing the costs of high-stakes exchanges, Battle Rewards helps maintain a fair and competitive environment where skill, not rake, determines long-term results.

Group Results of the HU CGWC No-Limit Hold’em

The 12 Heads-Up specialists in NLH started in four groups of 3, from which the winner of each group qualified for the semi-finals. There were certainly one or two surprises in the group stage.

Group A:

In Group A, many had expected a group victory from Swiss cash game icon Linus „LLinusLLove“ Loeliger. However, „KraciFisk“ put the Pokémon fan in his place and secured the group victory himself.

Group D:

Group D was the most fiercely contested group. It remained exciting until the very end. In the end, basketball fan „GoinHardInThePaint“ relegated the favored Cash Game World Champion of 2024, „PR0DIGY“, to second place.

Group Results of the HU CGWC Pot-Limit Omaha

The 8 starters in the PLO competition of the HU CGWC played against each other in two groups of 4, from which the top two in each group advanced to the next round and are now playing against each other in cross-group semi-finals.

Group A:

With a razor-thin lead of just 2 points, „Yodogoki“ secured the group victory and will thus face the supposedly easier opponent from the other group in the semi-final. Also in the semi-final is „LUKAKU“, who has long made a name for himself as one of the high-frequency high stakes players on CoinPoker and aims to crown this with a CGWC title.
