€1M gtd. King’s Million PLO ME started! “Jules” with mega chip lead, Zizka among survivors!

It’s finally time! At least a guaranteed €1,000,000 are looking for new owners in the King’s Million PLO Main Event. On Friday, exactly 200 entries gathered at King’s Resort Rozvadov during the first two of the five starting days (plus Flip and Go). 31 have already made it into the money, 25 of whom found a chip bag at their seat at the end of the day, with “Jules” from Germany filling theirs the most. Among the players who made the cut on Day 1A was also the poker and backgammon genius Zdenek Zizka from the Czech Republic.

King’s Million PLO Main Event

The King’s Million Pot-Limit Omaha Main Event has, as the name suggests, a 1 million euro prize pool guarantee. Players can compete for the seven-figure prize pool for a €1,100 buy-in (15% fee) in 6 flights (5 starting days + 1 Flip and Go). For this, you receive 50,000 starting chips and 40 minutes of playing time per level in the regularly scheduled flights. The top 15% of each starting flight finish in the money and thus already have €2,200 secured on their King’s Card. Play then continues without further hand-for-hand play until only 12.5% of the field remains in the tournament. They can then bag their chips for Day 2 of the 3-day event. Day 2 will be played on Sunday starting at 17:00 with blinds extended to 45 minutes, and later with one-hour blind levels. The grand finale starts on Monday at 14:00.

€1,100 King’s Million PLO ME – Day 1A

79 players started in the first of five KM PLO ME flights. The €1,100 buy-in was paid another 59 times for re-entries. This meant that a total of 21 players (15%) would finish ITM on Day 1A, while 17 would receive chip bags at the end of the day.

German players appeared 11 times in the results list, 10 of whom we will see again on Day 2. The most successful chip collectors from the D-A-CH region were also the most successful overall on Day 1A. With 510,000 chips, Alexander Pulkert finished in 3rd place in the intermediate standings. Georgi Dangel had built up a huge lead over his pursuers with 977,500 chips. Despite the massive stack, it wasn’t enough for the chip lead. “Jules” grabbed it in an impressive manner. The poker veteran bagged a legendary 1,706,000 chips, becoming the mega chip leader after 2 starting days. Among the other qualifiers for the continuation of the Main Event was also poker and backgammon high-flyer Zdenek Zizka. The Czech player was in 7th place in the daily standings with 366,500 chips.

€1,100 King’s Million PLO ME – Day 1B

Day 1B of the KM PLO Main Event was also played on Friday. At a later hour, 48 players entered the race for the guaranteed €1 million. The re-entry option was used 14 times during late registration. According to the math, with 62 total entries, there should be 10 ITM finishers and 8 players advancing to Day 2. German players succeeded in doing this 6 times. Among the most successful million-contenders was also poker veteran Jürgen Fittschen, who finished third “up where he belongs” among the top stacks with 520,000 chips. His compatriot “King George” reached 559,000 chips and 2nd place, while the Day 1B chip lead went to the Greek “Greko Gregor” with exactly 600,000 chips.
