Mario Mosböck Mosboeck Triton Poker Series Official ambassador

Jan Schwarz: Besides football and the Triton Series, another matter close to your heart is CoinPoker. Can you say how the collaboration with the online poker room came about?

Mario Mosböck: I got to know the team at CoinPoker and everyone there is very sharp, they all have clear visions, are very open to feedback, listen to their players, and want to build a really good poker product! For me, the big picture was very exciting because instead of joining the team of an existing large site, at CoinPoker you have the opportunity to influence product development, implement player feedback, and be part of an exciting project. I am very, very happy about the decision to work with CoinPoker. The site is growing rapidly month by month. CoinPoker simply makes good decisions, including reinvesting revenue smartly to continue building the site.

Mario Mosböck & Patrick Leonard are the new CoinPoker Pros

Jan Schwarz: Poker ambassadors of every poker site usually claim in the course of their ambassador activities that they will further develop the site or ensure more security or game integrity. This usually sounds somewhat rehearsed. To what extent do developments in specific cases at CoinPoker really go back to the feedback of the pros?

Mario Mosböck: Personally, I always work directly with the relevant teams at CoinPoker. A major shortcoming of online poker rooms has always been the lack of trust from players in the site, often justifiably so. And it was exactly this relationship of trust that I wanted to address by joining Team CoinPoker. I linked my engagement to the fact that players know exactly where their money is, for example, when they have won a large tournament and want to cash out. Following the example of the crypto exchange Binance, I wanted CoinPoker to show exactly which wallets the customer deposits are in using a Public Proof of Reserves. And within 3 weeks, CoinPoker implemented the Proof of Reserves, showing where the pure player balances lie untouched, separate from company assets, and that they are 110% covered. – And I mean, if the product is good and the money is safe, why would you want to play anywhere else?

Jan Schwarz: Where and how do players find you on CoinPoker?

Mario Mosböck: On CoinPoker, I play under my own name “MarioMosboeck” as a nickname. You are most likely to sit at the table with me on Sundays, when I play tournaments from $50 buy-in upwards. In the online poker series on CoinPoker, I’m unfortunately still missing a win, but hopefully, I’ll be at the final tables of the high roller tournaments like the $5,000 Nemesis. Every now and then, I also take part in the VIP cash game.

Jan Schwarz: When I’ve seen you in the VIP game, you were usually the one who was the last to leave the table and would have liked to play even longer if there had still been opponents.

Mario Mosböck: I definitely would have continued playing. (laughs) I enjoy the VIP games, especially because I haven’t studied cash games at all and don’t know my way around them that well. Also, I like playing shorthanded. But the others usually just leave me sitting there after the end of the 2-hour minimum playing time. (laughs)

Jan Schwarz: CoinPoker is also the platform where the highest pot in the history of poker was played, when Tony G won $7.75 million in one hand in PLO. Wouldn’t that be an incentive for you to get into cash games after all?

Mario Mosböck: Generally not, but if Tony were to call and ask me if I would play No Limit Hold’em Heads-Up against him, I would definitely like to do that. (laughs)
