Holz no longer a GGPoker Ambassador

On Twitter, the 32-year-old published a statement today announcing his end as a GGPoker Ambassador and at the same time testifying to a retirement, or at least a step back from poker:

After 6 good years, I’ve decided not to renew my ambassador role with @GGPoker.

Good wishes and offers from the poker scene

The news from Holz evoked many reactions from the poker scene. Players like “Big Li Poker”, “Rob Yong” or “Robin Poker” wished him good luck, “Beriuzy” thanked him for pushing an entire poker generation to never give up.

Others like Twitter user “Rigby” asked if this would free up a spot for them on the GGPoker roster, and one poker room even made an offer:

Family and investment fund instead of poker

After half his life in poker, the 32-year-old writes, the German-born Austrian plans to start a family together with his partner. In addition, he is also starting an investment fund. These two new things in his life will bind his focus from now on.

Friends, colleagues and companions, such as poker photographer Danny Maxwell, congratulated him on this decision, even though they would of course also like to see him at the poker tables. Joao Simao encouraged the 2-time bracelet winner that the real dreams would only start with this step in life.

Is this the end of Fedor Holz’s poker career?

All those who were now wondering whether they would ever see the German poker number 1 with over $50 million in tracked live winnings at the poker table again could, however, be reassured by Fedor Holz himself. 1 to 2 Triton Poker Series trips a year are still possible.
