On Thursday, the second of six starting days in the €100.000 gtd. PFB Masters Main Event was held as part of the Poker France Belgique Masters powered by PFB. Here too, at Grand Casino Aš (GCA), the big rush was not yet felt after a moderate Day 1A. In the Poker France Belgique Turbo, there was a novelty, or at least an extreme rarity, to be recorded at the GCA. No participant from Germany managed to reach the final table here. Instead, several were able to take a seat at the final table in the concluding PKO Event, at the end of which two regular players shared like brothers.

€200 Poker France Belgique Masters – Day 1B

After an improvable first flight with only 22 entries in the Poker France Belgique Masters Main Event, 29 players gathered at the GCA tournament tables on Friday from 18:00, taking another 9 re-entries for the buy-in of €170+€30 in the battle for the €100.000 guarantee. At the end of the match day in level 5k/10k-10k, 5 players were to find chip bags for the final day on Sunday (13:00) at their seats.

While Ralf Hirle (74.000) and Alexandre Legat (143.000) will have to fight for survival from the start with 7 and 14 BBs respectively in the final, “Payday” (421.000), Jürgen Goll (491.000) and Day 1B chip leader Emmanuel Legat (771.000) were able to bag comfortable stacks.

€60 France Belgique Turbo

A novelty in the history of the GCA probably occurred in the France Belgique Turbo: the fact that no guest from Germany made it to the final table has never happened in recent years, and if so, only under extremely rare planetary constellations. In any case, it happened on Thursday in the France Belgique Turbo.

The 44 entries took “only” 7 re-entries during late reg for a €53+€7 entry fee. Thus, the €3k guarantee was not quite reached and a €244 overlay benefited the players in the early afternoon. As mentioned, there were no German finalists among the last nine; instead, Poland was represented 3x, France and Belgium 2x each, Hungary and the Czech Republic 1x each. After the elimination of Didier Haegemann in 3rd place (€440), Peter Volockaerts from Belgium and Tomasz Szczepinski fought for the victory. In the end, the €695 runner-up prize went to Belgium, while the €850 top payout went to Poland.

€100 PKO Event

In addition to the Main Event and the Franco-Belge Turbo tournament, a Progressive Knockout Event was also played. After the GCA regulars had no chance against the international competition in the other two tournaments, at least on Thursday, they were back in their element in the evening. For the buy-in of €60+€40+€20, 90 players started, taking another 39 re-entries during late registration. Thus, €7.680 in the regular and €5.120 in the bounty prize pool were collected.

After Marvin Grießhammer (€215+€70), “Minnie Mouse” (€265+€100), “Richie” (€325+€170) and “D.Saks” (€390+€370) were eliminated in ranks 9 to 5 at the final table, the last two international bounty hunters, Gunhar Koops from the Netherlands (€470+€70) and Tomasz Szczepinski from Poland (€690+€450), also had to make their way to the cashier. In third place, the heads-up pairing wished their last competitor “Bon Voyage” (€930+€350), before the two regular players, each with a guaranteed €1.560, dueled for the last two bounties. The runaway chip leader “Taubexx” could not close directly, however, so “Brudi” was able to catch up a bit. Despite a 2.5:1 chip lead for “Taubexx”, the two finally agreed on a deal in which they agreed to keep their bounties. So ultimately €1.560+€140 went to runner-up “Brudi”, while “Taubexx” was able to claim his next title at the GCA along with a €1.560+€1.210 payout.
