The legendary “The Venom Mystery Bounty” tournament on Americas Card Room (ACR) Poker ended yesterday with a spectacular result: one finalist pocketed more than $1.2 million and wasn’t even the winner of the tournament.

ACR The Venom
This $2,500 tournament is one of the largest and most prestigious Mystery Bounty events on the online poker calendar. In the Mystery Bounty format, in addition to classic prize money, you receive randomly distributed bounty amounts that are paid out with every knockout.
The event had a guaranteed prize pool of $8 million and attracted a total of 3,673 entries from numerous Day 1 flights, creating a prize pool of $9,182,500 (half of which was played out in Mystery Bounties). 442 players were paid and there were Mystery Bounties up to $500,000.
$500,000 Top Bounty!
The player ‘BALDOUS‘ had an absolute sunrun with over $729,931 in bounties alone. The absolute highlight came when he drew the $500,000 bounty.

At the end of the event, nine finalists competed for the title. After the chips changed hands for hours, the last three remaining players agreed to a deal.
‘BALDOUS’ eventually lost to ‘MatasSembolas’ in heads-up, but with the bounties and the $510,378 payout for second place, he took home a total of $1,240,310. The winner of the event still received $728,281 (including $97,953 in bounties).
