German Poker Days started – Amiri grabs the GPD 1A Chipleader Bonus!

The German Poker Days powered by GPD have started their next edition. In the GPD Main Event, where at least €300,000 is guaranteed in the prize pool, the first of 8 starting days was held on Wednesday at King’s Resort Rozvadov. It was not only about qualifying for the second and thus final day, but also about a €400 min-cash and the chipleader bonus of €1,150!

German Poker Days – Main Event

The German Poker Days are a staple among the poker festivals at King’s Resort. In the current edition, the GPD Main Event features a guaranteed prize pool of at least €300,000, including 10 packages worth €3,000 each for the King’s Million European Poker Championship! Anyone wishing to participate can qualify for the final (SUN, 17:00) via 8 flights (7 starting days, 1 Flip and Go). The top 10% of each flight’s participants make the cut. The money ranks with the associated €400 min-cash are reached once 15% of the players remain on the starting day. Furthermore, the chiplead on the regular starting days is rewarded with a €1,150 chipleader bonus in the form of King’s Main Event tickets. The buy-in is under €200 at €199, for which you receive 50,000 starting chips and 30 minutes of play (12 minutes in the Turbo Flight). On the final day, the blind levels will be extended to 40 minutes. The German Poker Days are known for the fact that the final day, usually played on Monday at King’s Resort, is omitted, meaning that not only poker skills but also poker stamina are required for a successful Main Event!

€199 GPD German Poker Days – Day 1A

From the previous €35 satellite, 16 qualifiers were able to play their way into Day 1A of the GPD Main Event at a low cost. They were joined by 47 direct buy-ins who paid the odd entry fee of €199. The typical GPD buy-in was paid another 28 times for re-entries during late registration, so that out of the 91 total entries, 14 ended up ITM (15%) and 10 (10%) made it to Day 2.

A total of 7 German players were able to record the €400 min-cash on their King’s Card. We will see 6 of them again with chip bags in the final on Sunday. This includes Patrick Wagner, among others, who reached 6th place in the intermediate standings with 361,000 chips. A German trio placed at the very front: Dominik Kellnberger finished the starting day successfully with 448,000 chips, while Michael Ernest even reached 481,000 chips. However, Day 1A chipleader Mehrdad Amiri was able to bag a multiple of that. The German had to pack a whopping 1,346,000 chips into his bag and, as the mega-chipleader, probably slept particularly well. With this, he not only maneuvered himself into an excellent starting position for the final of the 2-day event but was also able to collect the €1,150 chipleader bonus in the form of King’s Main Event tickets in addition to the guaranteed min-cash as a reward for his outstanding performance.
