The €5.300 Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2026 at King’s Casino Prague determined its champion yesterday.

Event #5: €5.300 WSOPE Main Event NLH European Championship – Final

2.617 entries had created a prize pool of €13.085.000 – a record field for the World Series Of Poker Europe and thus a successful start at the new location in Prague.

For yesterday’s final, the last nine players returned to the final table with a guaranteed payout of €140.000 and the battle for the €2.000.000 top prize was continued.

The Finn Joona Nyholm was the short stack for the final and he was also the first to have to leave the tournament on the final day. For this, he received a €140.000 payout. Brandon Sheils from Great Britain followed in 8th place for €185.000 and the Frenchman Thomas Eychenne in 7th place for €245.000.

A truly international final continued with the bustout of the Finn Hengtao Zhu in 6th place for €320.000 and the elimination of the Spaniard Antonio Guimaraens in 5th place for €425.000.

Then it was the turn of the Bulgarian Nikolay Bibov in 4th place for €575.000 and the probably best-known player of the final day, Chris “Big Huni” Hunichen, in 3rd place for €800.000.

In heads-up, the Japanese Akihiro Konishi and the Lithuanian Marius Kudzmanas then faced each other. The latter closed the deal and received €2.000.000 and the coveted WSOPE Main Event bracelet for his victory. Konishi was still able to take home €1.200.000 for second place.
