The Finalists

The €5.300 Main Event of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) Paris at Club Barrière Paris played its penultimate day of play yesterday, Saturday.

1.474 entries had participated in this event and yesterday the 16 remaining players started the day. All players were guaranteed €47.500 at this point and the big goal for yesterday was to reach the final table. Today, the final will be played for a top prize of €1.148.600!

The German-speaking community watched spellbound as the action unfolded, as we still had two strong representatives in the race with Jessica Teusl from Austria and Felix Schneiders from Germany.

Teusl misses the big win

The Austrian poker queen Jessica Teusl had the chance to be the first woman in twelve years to win an EPT Main Event. However, this dream ended in 13th place when she ran her pocket tens into Jorge Abreu’s pocket jacks. For this placement, she was able to take home €68.050, which will surely only taste good in a few weeks after this disappointment.

Thus, Felix Schneiders remained for DACH and he survived the day with 13 big blinds. He is therefore the shortest stack in the final of the last seven, but everything is still possible. Especially considering that Enrico Coppola is directly ahead of him with 15 big blinds and there are two other stacks of 20 and 21 big blinds. So there could be at least a few pay jumps if things go well.

Dethroning the chip leader Jorge Abreu, on the other hand, will be a bit more difficult, as he starts the final with an incredible 150 big blinds – more than the rest of the field combined.

The action from yesterday’s Day 5 can still be seen afterwards in the PokerStars stream:
For the moment, all players are now guaranteed €179.350, but no one will want to settle for that if a €1.148.600 payday could be possible!
